Quick answers

  • Is there an AI receptionist that speaks Spanish?

Yes. Global AI Receptionist answers in English and switches to Spanish the moment a caller speaks it, then finishes the whole call in Spanish. It's one switch, included on every plan from $99 a month. Your call summaries stay in English, so you can read every call the same way.

How it works

How does the Spanish switch work?

  • It starts in your main language

Callers hear your usual greeting, in English, with the virtual assistant notice.

  • It switches when they do

The moment a caller speaks Spanish, in the first sentence or later, it carries on in Spanish. No “press 2”, no asking first.

  • It finishes the call in Spanish

It stays in Spanish to the end. A single English word like “okay” doesn't flip it back.

  • Same facts, in Spanish

Your hours, prices and answers are given in Spanish without being changed. Anything it doesn't know, it says your team will follow up.

  • Polite, like a front desk

It uses “usted” unless the caller uses “tú” first, and says the AI notice in Spanish too.

  • Website chat too

Visitors who write in Spanish in your website chat get answers in Spanish, from the same receptionist.

Setup

How do you turn on Spanish?

It takes under a minute. You can also pick languages while you set up.

  1. 1

In your dashboard, open your assistant and go to the “Voice & personality” tab.

  2. 2

Switch on “Also answer in Spanish”.

  3. 3

Tap “Save draft”, then “Publish changes”. Then make a test call in Spanish.

Good to know

What doesn't it do in Spanish?

Better to know before you turn it on.

  • Your call summaries are always in English. The transcript shows what was really said.
  • Every voice can speak Spanish, but some sound more natural than others. The app tells you if yours may not and suggests voices that do.
  • The standard greeting is in English. If most of your callers speak Spanish, type your own greeting in Spanish.
  • It can't send text messages yet, in any language. Text confirmations are coming soon.
  • Live transfer to your team is on the Growth plan and up. Whoever picks up should speak Spanish, or plan to call back.

More languages

Which other languages does it speak?

On phone calls it can switch between English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Hindi. It can also answer in Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, Vietnamese or Korean as its one language. Urdu works in website chat only for now.

  • English
  • Spanish
  • French
  • Portuguese
  • Hindi

Only pick languages your callers really use. Each extra one makes calls a little harder to understand.
