Adding the chat to your website

The same receptionist that answers your phone can answer visitors on your website, 24/7. You paste one short line of code.

Add it

  1. In your dashboard, tap “Assistants” and open your assistant.
  2. Open the “Phone & website” tab and find “Website chat”. (It's also on the last step of setup.)
  3. Tap the copy button next to the code.
  4. In your website builder, paste it just before </body> on your site, or in the box your builder gives for custom code. It works with WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify and any site that lets you add custom code.
  5. Open your website. A chat bubble appears in the corner.

Change how it looks (optional)

Add any of these inside the code, next to the word async:

  • data-color="#4f46e5": your brand color for the button and your visitor's messages.
  • data-theme="dark" or data-theme="light": leave it out to follow the visitor's phone or computer.
  • data-position="left": puts the chat button in the bottom-left corner.
  • data-nudge="true": shows a small hello bubble next to the button after a few seconds.
  • data-open="true": opens the chat as soon as the page loads.

Only show it on your own website

Under “Only show the chat on these websites (optional)”, type your website addresses, one per line (like https://yourbusiness.com), and tap “Save websites”. Leave it empty to allow any site, but then anyone could copy your code.

What visitors see

  • A short notice at the top of every chat that they're chatting with your business's AI assistant and that chats are saved.
  • The same answers, services and booking rules as on the phone.
  • If they leave and come back within a day, their chat is still there.

Where chats show up

Every chat appears in “Calls & chats” as a website chat. A chat counts as finished after 10 minutes with no new message; then it gets a summary and you get the usual email. Website chats don't use your call minutes.
